Jodha Akbar (A Tale of eternal love )
Jodha Akbar directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar the man behind the Oscar nominated Lagaan. It is a historical love story featuring superstars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who played the movie as Akbar and Jodha. Jodha Akbar is a marvelously spiced-up slice of history. Or just savor the chemistry between the warrior and the princess with hundreds of junior artist, elephants, rabbit and parrots by the couple's journey from secularism to eternity. The best part of the movie is that it blends the love story perfectly with in the war ridden backdrop.
Historical Accuracy
Over the last few weeks, media have been busy with debate over the relationship between Jodha and Akbar. Certain Rajput groups claimed Jodha was married Akbar's son Jahangir, not Akbar. Of course Ashutosh Gowarikar has admitted that, about 60% of the movie is based on his imagination. While making the movie he did his best to go by the book and consulted with best historians and went through meticulous research. Infect there is a disclaims about the Rajput queen's name at the beginning of the film.
Theme
Jodha Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliances that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar and a Rajput princes Jodhaa. Jodha (Aishwariya) daughter of King Bharmal of Amer (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), is married Akbar (Hrithik) just for the political reason. Akbar married her just for the sake of better relationship with Rajputani alliance. It is not the marriage between the King and the Queen, but was marriage between two cultures. At the wedding night Jodha declines to give conjugal rights to him until she finds herself attach to him and Akbar's biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles but in winning the love of this insolent princess.
Performances
Hrithik played Akbar with effortless ease and totally gets into the character. A mind blowing performance without doubt. In some sequences Hrithik was superb like the sword fight in the climax and tempted a wild elephant.
Aishwarya Rai was equally amazing. In some sequence she did very well like the sword fight with Hrithik. Just say only one complement a flow less performance by both star. Beside this, Sonu Sood did complete justice to his role and Ila Arun did her level best. Nikitin Dheer was fantastic and Kulbhushan Kharbanda was perfect.
